In May 2024, Black Spyder Publishing was born during one of the most pivotal moments of my life. After the sudden passing of my nephew and an unexpected layoff from my 9-to-5, I found myself with time, grief, and a powerful sense of purpose. With two months of focus and a dream long in the making, I spun the first threads of this creative web.

Now, one year later—life more stable, passion unwavering—I return to this dream with fresh vision and deeper commitment. Welcome, said the Spider.

Since our launch, we’ve been weaving webs of creativity—connecting bold, emerging writers with curious, hungry readers. Our mission remains clear: to nurture unique voices, support every phase of the publishing journey, and provide a home for stories that might otherwise go untold.

My Pedigree

Call me D or dblkrose; that's what my friends know me by. Don't let my looks fool you; I'm friendly and don't bite. My little girl in this pic is named Bernadette, or Bernie for short. Unfortunately, she is no longer with me, but I still love her and like this picture.

A quick rundown on me is that I am a military brat by birth (Marine Corp), born in Okinawa, Japan, but grew up in Fayetteville, NC. Upon completing high school, I answered the call and joined the military (Navy, sorry, Dad), where I served ten years as a Fire Control Technician. I've seen much of the world before and was old enough to know what to do with that experience. Now, I toil about working a regular nine-to-five and dreaming of becoming a professional writer.

Speaking of writing, I have some work posted here and there on several websites, with my latest bulk of work being on Elliquiy under dblkrose. I enjoy writing fiction; my preferred genres are fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and erotica. I love to read and take notes from several established authors like Dean Koontz, R.A. Salvatore, Brandon Sanderson, Jim Butcher, Michael Stephen Fuchs, Max Brooks... and a whole other list of people, as there are so many to name. I'm a closet geek and still enjoy reading comic books, playing D&D and video games, and catching the latest Disney Channel Series or the next episode of Picard. Due to my Japanese experience, I'm also big into Manga and Anime.

So that's a glimpse of my pedigree and what makes me who I am, and I look forward to sharing my talents and more of myself through my website and future literary works.
